Description
The Enigma 425 pendant light was designed in 2003 by Japanese designer Shoichi Uchiyama for Louis Poulsen and truly lives up to its name: beneath the conical lamp head, the downward-tapering shade segments appear to float freely on fine wires. The cone and suspension tube are made of lacquered aluminium, while the shades are made of matt acrylic – with a diameter of 42.2 cm and a height of 74 cm, the result is a light that feels light and airy despite its size.
The light from Enigma is directed downward and completely glare-free, while the matt upper side of the shades diffuses it softly and the glossy underside ensures optimal reflection. This creates even, pleasant general lighting with lateral light distribution – ideal above the dining table, in living rooms or bedrooms, as well as in rooms with higher ceilings.
The suspension is via a 300 cm supply cable, and a canopy for neat ceiling mounting is included. The light source is not included and can be selected as required, for example to specifically adjust light output and light colour to suit your interior.
