Luminous flux is measured in lumens (abbreviated as lm). This refers to the radiant flux or light output, which is aLight source ultimately emits. This means that the unit "lumen" is used to indicate how bright a light is.

This value is therefore always specified by the manufacturer for lamps; however, the luminous flux does not provide information about the spatial distribution of light radiation, but rather takes into account brightness alone. What is factored into the lumen value, however, is the sensitivity of the human eye, since it reacts differently to different wavelengths. Thus, the luminous flux is expressed as a weighted value.
