Fil de Fer ist eine Leuchte aus modelliertem und geflochtenem Aluminiumdraht, die im Innern von winzigen Lämpchen erhellt wird. Von Enzo Catellani ausgedacht und entworfen, ist sie seine liebste Schöpfung. Sie entstand vor fast 20 Jahren für einen speziellen Auftrag, wurde dann aber für das ursprüngliche Projekt nicht verwendet und blieb in seiner Werkstatt hängen. Jeden, der sie in eingeschaltetem Zustand sah, verzauberte sie durch etwas Besonderes und Magisches. Enzo Catellani beschließt also, an der Leuchte weiterzuarbeiten. Die Lampe kommt auf den Markt und wird zum repräsentativsten Modell von Catellani & Smith.
