As already mentioned, when installing the lighting in the bathroom, the protection class should be taken into account. IP44 is the minimum size, but depending on the zone, there are also stricter requirements that your ceiling light must meet. The room is divided into different areas for lights:
- Protective area 0 is located directly in the shower and bathtub. Lamps there have to endure a immersion, which is guaranteed by protection class IPX7 and a maximum of 12 volts.
- If you want to attach your ceiling lamp directly above the shower or tub, this is in protection area 1. Here IPX5 is necessary because jet water is not excluded.
- From zone 2, everything from 60 cm adjacent, IPX4 is sufficient for lights.
