Dimmable LED lamps
In our consultations, we recommend the use of dimmable lighting, especially in living and dining areas. With dimmable lamps, you can regulate the brightness and adapt the lighting situation to your needs. Whether for cozy evenings or demanding visual tasks - dimmable light sources offer you maximum flexibility.
What dimming techniques are available?
There is a clear answer as to whether a light source is dimmable. But how it is dimmed offers various possibilities. Here you can find out what you need to look out for when making your choice:
Dimmable via leading edge/trailing edge phase control
These LEDs require a suitable LED dimmer or universal dimmer, which is installed in the switch box or fuse box. Ensure that the dimmer and luminaire are compatible. Some manufacturers offer dimmer recommendations.
Dimmable via switch
No dimmer installed? Lamps that are dimmed by switch are a good solution. They are dimmed in 3 stages by switching them on and off several times and often offer a memory function that saves the last brightness.
Smart Light illuminant
Smart LEDs do not require an additional dimmer and can be dimmed using an app or remote control. You can also change colors or create scenes. Systems such as iLight, Casambi or Connect offer numerous options.
DALI
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a manufacturer-independent standard for controlling dimmable luminaires. To use DALI, a 5-core cable must be laid and the luminaire must be DALI-compatible. Ask an electrician for more information.
