What is the correct IP protection class for bathroom lighting?
When buying a bathroom lamp, you should make sure that the light has a protection class of at least IP44, as the bathroom is a wet room. These lights are protected against condensation and splash water and are suitable for protection zone 2, i.e. anything within 60 cm of the shower or bath.
IPX5 is required for protection zone 1, such as directly above the shower. In protection zone 0, the interior of the shower and bath, the lamp must have at least IPX7 to be protected against submersion.
An absolute must: a practical mirror light
The most important thing with a mirror is ample and glare-free light. Make sure that your mirror lamp is bright enough for routines such as applying make-up or shaving. LED lights are particularly suitable for this and can be mounted on the side or above the mirror.
A mirror light alone is not enough as a light source - you need additional ceiling lights for general lighting in the room.
