In 1995 the founder of Secto Design, Tuula Juselius, and the renowned designer Seppo Koho met for the first time. They got on perfectly from the start and that was the beginning of a long and successful collaboration. Above all, the respect for the Nordic forests and the enthusiasm for clear Scandinavian design and professional wood trade combine the two to this day.
The two started working together on innovative wooden furniture. Only the right lights for the designer furniture were still missing. The Secto 4200 pendant lamp was created from this "emergency situation", which then became the basis for the entire SECTO Design wooden light collection.

Secto-Design and Seppo Koho's designer philosophy
Seppo Koho not only designs the lights, but also manufactures the first prototypes by hand. He has always been interested in wood work and has always been interested in experimenting with the possibilities that wood offers as a material. By making a wooden prototype for a new lamp, many design details can be clarified for which a computer drawing is not sufficient.
Seppo Koho's goal is to manufacture lights that radiate a harmonious light without blinding the viewer through visible lamps. The light source remains hidden in all Secto design lights, but the light can be seen in the fascinating patterns that are emerging on the walls and on the floor. The game of light and shadow in combination with the warmth of the birch wood gives the minimalist design of Seppo Koho a poetic appearance that captivates people around the world.
