Karin Wagner

"The staircase is often integrated into the entrance area or is directly connected to it. When you come home or receive guests, the entrance area is the first thing that is visible in your house. It is not for nothing that the entrance area and the staircase that is often connected to it are considered the calling card of the house. By beautifully designing the entrance area with selected furniture, tasteful decoration and high-quality accessories, you ensure that you and your guests immediately feel at home. A well-thought-out lighting concept that is tailored to you emphasizes the architecture of the house and complements your interior design."

What do you have to pay attention to when lighting the entrance area?

Safety is paramount on walkways such as hallways, stairs or passageways. The light should be bright enough so that you can find your way and not trip over obstacles. At the same time, the lighting should not be too bright so that you are not blinded. In the wardrobe area, just like in the dressing room, a little more light is needed. With sufficiently bright lighting, you can better judge the color of your jackets, bags and shoes and thus combine them more easily.

lighting design with LED strips

Aluminum profiles in different sizes, shapes and colors ensure that LED strips can be used in an incredibly versatile way. There are also numerous possible uses for LED strips in the stairwell. LED strips can be used for more than just accent lighting. High-power LED strips in professional quality also provide bright room lighting.

There are no limits to your creativity when using LED strips. Whether as direct or indirect lighting, built into the ceiling or wall or as a surface-mounted solution, almost anything is possible with the right aluminum profile. All you need is a socket or power outlet and a place where you can hide the corresponding transformer.

Modern step lighting with state-of-the-art LED technology

While LED strips can be used in a variety of ways as stair lighting, such as for example as stair step or handrail lighting, there are other ways to illuminate the staircase. Flat wall lights are very popular as they take up very little space. But effect lights, which also create beautiful lighting effects on the wall, are also a popular design option for staircase lighting.

Recessed wall lights are the perfect choice for lighting up steps. Many of these recessed wall lights can be easily installed in a recessed box, some even without a transformer, such as the recessed light box in white or brushed aluminum. Recessed wall lights for stairs are bright enough to prevent tripping over the steps, but not too bright so that they do not dazzle. This makes this type of stair lighting particularly practical at night, for example when you want to get something to drink from the kitchen.

pendant lights in the gallery

If you have a large or small space in your house, you can perfectly set the scene with hanging lights. They are available in different colors, shapes, sizes and made of different materials, so that you can find the perfect gallery light for you. However, the incredible variety also makes it difficult to decide on the perfect light for the gallery.

A lighting concept – a harmonious combination of different light sources

In our lighting concepts, it is particularly important to us to be able to react flexibly to different situations with the lighting. That is why we use several coordinated light sources in important areas such as the living and dining area or the entrance area. When choosing the lighting in the entrance area, the hallway and the stairs, you do not have to decide on one type of lighting. Consciously plan different light sources that can be switched on and off as required and perhaps dimmed. Take your daily routine and that of your family into account, not only when designing the lighting in the entrance area, but in the whole house. Of course, we are also happy to help you with tips and tricks on the subject of lighting.

Connecting multiple pendant lights to one power outlet

In existing houses and also in new buildings, there is often only one power outlet for the gallery light. But that doesn't mean that you have to say goodbye to the idea of a 3- or 5-bulb gallery light. Multiple canopies such as the s.luce Modular Canopy or track systems allow you to mount several pendant lights on one outlet with little effort. This means you can put together your gallery light the way you like it best. Combine several individual pendant lights from a series in different sizes and colors and hang the lights at different heights.

sketches as a planning aid

By far the most popular pendant lights for the gallery are airy, light glass lights in different colors, shapes and sizes. The combination of 3 smaller lights, e.g. Ø 30cm and 2 larger lights, e.g. Ø 40cm, is particularly popular. As a little help for planning your gallery light, we have created 2 different sketches for the possible suspension of 5 lights on a canopy. You determine which pendant light is in the middle and you can easily arrange the other pendant lights around the middle one. This also applies if you want to use other sizes or several different sizes. You can also enter the desired cable lengths here. For many lights, a cable extension is possible so that you can also use them in the gallery.
