The staircase is often integrated into the entrance area or directly adjacent to it. When you come home or welcome guests, the entrance area is the first thing you see of your home. It's no coincidence that the entrance area and the staircase often associated with it are considered the calling card of the house. By designing the entrance area beautifully with selected furniture, tasteful decoration, and high-quality accessories, you can ensure that you and your guests immediately feel at home. A well-thought-out lighting concept tailored to your needs emphasizes the architecture of the house and complements your interior design."
What should you pay attention to when lighting the entrance area?
Safety through light is paramount in walkways such as hallways, stairs, or passageways. The light should be bright enough for you to find your way and not trip over obstacles. At the same time, the light should not be too bright so that you are not dazzled. In the cloakroom area, just like in the dressing room, a little more light is needed. With sufficiently bright lighting, you can better assess the color of your jackets, bags, and shoes, making it easier to combine them.
Lighting design with LED strips
Aluminum profiles in various sizes, shapes, and colors ensure that LED strips can be used in an incredibly versatile manner. There are also numerous applications for LED strips in the stairwell. LED strips can be used for more than just accent lighting. High-power LED strips in professional quality also provide bright room lighting.
There are no limits to your creativity when using LED strips. Whether as direct or indirect lighting, built into the ceiling or wall, or as a surface-mounted solution, almost anything is possible with the right aluminum profile. All you need is a power outlet and a place to hide the corresponding transformer.
Modern step lighting with state-of-the-art LED technology
While LED strips can be used in many different ways for stair lighting, such as step or handrail lighting, there are other options for illuminating stairwells. Flat wall lights, which take up very little space, are particularly popular. However, effect lights, which also conjure up beautiful lighting effects on the wall, are a popular design option for stairwell lighting.
Recessed wall lights are the perfect choice for illuminating stair treads. Many of these recessed wall lights can be easily installed in a flush-mounted box, some even without a transformer, such as the Box recessed light in white or brushed aluminum. Recessed wall lights for stairs are bright enough to prevent you from tripping on the steps, but not so bright that they dazzle you. This makes this type of stair lighting particularly practical at night, e.g. when you want to get something to drink from the kitchen.
Pendant lights in the gallery
If you have a large or small airspace in your home, you can perfectly showcase it with pendant lights. They come in different colors, shapes, sizes, and materials, so you're sure to find the perfect gallery light for you. However, the incredible variety also made it difficult to decide on the perfect light for the gallery.
A lighting concept – a harmonious combination of different light sources
In our lighting concepts, it is particularly important to us to be able to respond flexibly to different situations with the lighting. That is why we use several coordinated light sources in important areas such as the living and dining areas or the entrance area. When choosing lighting for the entrance area, hallway, and stairs, you do not have to decide on one type of lighting. Consciously plan for different light sources that can be switched on and off as needed and perhaps also dimmed. Consider your daily routine, but also that of your family, not only when designing the lighting in the entrance area, but throughout the entire house. Of course, we are also happy to help you with tips and tricks on the subject of lighting.
Connecting multiple pendant lights to one power outlet
In existing buildings, but also in new constructions, there is often only one power outlet available for the gallery light. However, this does not mean that you have to abandon the idea of a 3- or 5-light gallery light. Multiple canopies such as the s.luce Modular Canopy or rail systems make it possible to install several pendant lights on one outlet with little effort. This allows you to put together your gallery light the way you like it best. Combine several individual pendant lights from one series in different sizes and colors and hang the lights at different heights.
Sketches as a planning aid
By far the most popular pendant lights for galleries are airy, lightweight glass lights in various colors, shapes, and sizes. The combination of three smaller lights, e.g., Ø 30 cm, and two larger lights, e.g., Ø 40 cm, is particularly popular. To help you plan your gallery lighting, we have created two different sketches showing how five lights could be suspended from a canopy. You decide which pendant light is in the middle and then simply arrange the other pendant lights around it. Of course, this also applies if you want to use different sizes or several different sizes. You can also enter your desired cable lengths here. Many lights can be fitted with a cable extension, allowing you to use them in the gallery too.
