Design of your choice - choose your stairwell pendant light

The stairwell is more than just a functional passageway - it is a central part of your home and deserves lighting that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The right Stairwell pendant light creates a harmonious atmosphere, ensures safety and sets stylish accents. Regardless of whether you prefer a modern, classic or cozy ambience - with the right Pendant light for the staircase you can design your entrance area individually and set the scene perfectly.

When choosing the perfect Pendant light for the staircase various factors play a role. Ceiling height is a decisive factor: in high stairwells, multi-flame or height-adjustable Stairwell pendant luminaires are particularly effective, while more compact models are ideal in lower areas. The style of your interior should also be taken into account. Minimalist designs made of metal or glass go perfectly with modern living concepts, while classic pendant lights with fabric shades create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Material selection:

Staircase pendant lights are available in many different materials. These can either match the material used in your staircase or be specifically different.

  • WoodIdeal with warm tones. Combine them in old houses with exposed roof trusses, farm buildings or wooden houses  Wooden pendant lights or alternatively metal pendant luminaires in gold or copper tones to create an ideal symbiosis of furnishings and staircase lighting.

  • GlassGlass pendant lights stand for a straightforward, elegant and timeless design language that can be ideally combined with many materials. If you have a glass banister in your staircase, the multi-flame glass pendant light can be the ideal complement.

  • MetalMetal pendant lights for staircases look less light than glass, but more imposing and classic and can also be perfectly matched to metal banisters or metal handrails in the stairwell.

Color selection

  • Black and white are timeless and can be combined with both classic and very modern furnishing elements in the stairwell.

  • Other colors such as red, blue, yellow, etc. Usually require a certain factor in the stairwell to which they are oriented. For example, a blue carpet, a painting with a red cast or similar details that allow a connection to the color of the staircase pendant light.
  • Colorful and abstract Stairwell lights can be used specifically as a lively refresher to create a creative color scheme in your staircase.

Shape of the pendant lights

  • Round staircase pendant lights:  These are the most frequently used pendant luminaires in stairwells, as there are simply more round pendant luminaires than angular pendant luminaires. If you have a spiral staircase or a spiral staircase, the staircase luminaire can specifically take up the shape of the staircase. However, this type of luminaire can also be easily integrated into quarter-spiral, half-spiral or landing staircases.

  • Angular staircase lamps:  Do you have more angular than round furnishing elements in the building anyway or would you like to emphasize an angular furnishing language?

  • Organic stairwell lights:  Very modern stairwell luminaires, which are intended to create a virtuoso lighting design in the stairwell, can also consist of light tubes or organic designs in which no clear form is discernible. A good example of this is the Enterprise series from the manufacturer Next.

Size of the lights

The size of the respective modern staircase pendant light naturally depends on the size of the staircase. If the luminaire is to be placed in an eye of the staircase, it should of course not get in the way of you and your guests going up the stairs.

Also look for a pendant light combination that fits exactly into the stairwell.

However, the size of the individual light is not always important. You can either place individual large lights such as glass spheres with a diameter of 50 cm or large s.luce rings with a diameter of 120 or 150 cm, or even the s.luce Made series with rings up to 230 cm in diameter, or you can combine many small lights to create a large composition.

Let your imagination run free and take in s kapetze® Contact us. We combine your pendant luminaire combination as you wish and realize your perfect lighting concept in the airspace.

Light color

We always recommend warm white lighting of 3,000 Kelvin in the interior. If you value extra-warm lighting, you can select this specifically with skapetze® so that individual warm white LED strips can be used.

In the case of stairwell pendant lights with replaceable light sources, you as the customer can choose the light bulb yourself anyway. We are happy to make recommendations in this regard.

Tip 2: Positioning in the airspace

Consider where the highest and lowest points of the luminaire will be placed and what diameter should be planted.

With skapetze® you can determine the length, size and diameter of the pendant light yourself.

Depending on the light selection, you can use the s.luce Modular XL canopy, you can select up to 16 pendant luminaires on one canopy. With very small luminaire diameters, up to 50 luminaires are even possible on one canopy.

Cluster display (at an outlet):

A twisted gallery pendant luminaire (cluster luminaire) forms a spindle shape from top to bottom down the storeys. It often starts at the top with large luminaires and ends with small luminaires. With the s.luce luminaires, however, you have this in your own hands. We plan this exactly as you wish and supply the right number of luminaires or send you the desired cluster lamp ready for connection.

Dynamic constellation (at an outlet):

If the luminaires are to be creative, playful, lively and dynamic, they can also be dynamically staged on a canopy. We have many beautiful real customer references for this, which can be combined with our s.luce pendant luminaires were created.

Would you like the Pendant lights prefer a quieter design? Then a flat constellation is the right solution for you.

Tip 3: Technology used

Think about what kind of staircase pendant light you would like. Something Practical and Brightening, a calming and discreet ambience or something extravagant for your staircase?

Through the Individual suspension and alignment options  the staircase pendant lamp can be used for most s.luce Gallery luminaires can be adapted to any room.

The Ring series can be dimmed per phase or phase section and is available in various colors, e.g. in Black, gold, aluminum, chrome and white. The black pendant light is very popular with our customers and is often placed in stairwells.

Finally, specify the control. Do you already have a switch or would you like to operate the new Galerie light via your smartphone or remote control? Then we recommend the iLight smart home lighting system from skapetze®!

Why is good lighting in stairwells so important?

Good lighting ensures safety, prevents tripping hazards and creates an inviting atmosphere. A stylish pendant light can also enhance the design of the staircase.

At what height should a pendant light hang in the stairwell?

The optimum height depends on the room height. In open stairwells with high ceilings, multi-level pendant luminaires are ideal. They should be positioned so that they do not block out the passageway behind them.

Which pendant light is suitable for a small stairwell?

Compact or slim luminaires are ideal in smaller stairwells. Individual suspended pendant luminaires or cluster luminaires provide sufficient light without overwhelming the room.
