Various factors play a role in choosing the perfect pendant light for your stairwell. The ceiling height is crucial: in high stairwells, multi-light or height-adjustable stairwell pendant lights are particularly effective, while in lower areas, more compact models are ideal. The style of your interior should also be taken into account. Minimalist designs made of metal or glass fit perfectly with modern living concepts, while classic pendant lights with fabric shades create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Material selection:

Stairwell pendant lights are available in many different materials. These can either match the material used in your stairwell or deliberately contrast with it.

• Wood: Goes perfectly with warm tones. Combine them in old buildings with exposed roof trusses, farm buildings, or wooden houses.  Wooden pendant lights or, alternatively, metal pendant lights in gold or copper tones to achieve an ideal symbiosis of interior design and stairwell lighting.

• Stone: If your stairwell has marble or stone tiles, you can use pendant lights with integrated marble elements .

• Glass: Glass pendant lights represent a linear, elegant, and timeless design language that can be ideally complemented with many materials. If you have a glass railing in your stairwell, a multi-light glass pendant light can be the ideal addition.

• Metal: Metal staircase pendant lights appear less light than glass, but are impressive and classic, and can also be perfectly matched to metal railings or metal handrails in the stairwell. 

Color selection

Shape of pendant lights

Size of the lights

The size of the respective modern stairwell pendant light naturally depends on the size of the stairwell. If the light is to be placed in a stairwell, it should of course not interfere with the staircase for you and your guests.
