Buy lamp sockets cheaply
There are a wide variety of sockets for lamps and lights. For lights without built-in LEDs, you usually have to purchase the appropriate light bulbs separately. This is a good reason to find out which light bulb the particular light actually needs.
Differences in the lamp sockets
Often the difference is not so easy for laypeople to see. Fortunately, LED bulbs can be used in almost all older lamps with halogen bulbs, as the socket design has been adopted accordingly. The energy savings from halogen lamps to LED lamps are enormous. The switch pays for itself immediately!
There are various sockets on the market. For low-voltage lamps (12 volt low voltage): G4, GU5.3, GY6.35, MR11 and MR16. For high-voltage lamps (230 volt voltage): B15d, B22d, E14, E27, E40, G9, GU10, R7s and S14d. The "E" in the names stands for the inventor of the light bulb, Thomas Edison.
Most commonly used lamp sockets
In our lighting shop we offer a wide range of lamp sockets. The most common types of lamp sockets used in commercially available lamps are G4, G9, GU10 (all lamps with a base or pins/cones) or E14 and E27 (classic light bulb shapes). Light bulbs are particularly common in chandeliers, table lamps, hanging lamps and floor lamps. Lamps with a base are more likely to be used in ceiling lights, wall lamps or recessed lights.
Lamp holders with cable and canopy
You can order these bulbs directly from us. If you only need the socket, there are lights that only consist of a canopy, textile cable and the respective socket. This gives you lots of options for customizing the light in terms of bulbs and lampshade.
GU10 sockets for recessed lights
The GU10 sockets are perfect for LED recessed spotlights or LED recessed lamps. These can be inserted into the ceiling mounting boxes or wall mounting boxes and connected to the power cable or the corresponding light source of the recessed spotlight.
It is best to leave this work to an electrician or our lamp fitters, as they can carry out the work professionally and are trained to do so.
