What is the difference between 1-phase current rails and 3-phase current rail systems?
1-phase current rails
With this type of power rail, only one phase conductor is available, which means that the electricity only flows through the individual phase conductor and zero -conductor. But what does that mean?
All lights or light sources connected to the power rail can only be switched on or off at the same time. For example, it is not possible to turn off only two lights and have two switched on. The same applies to dimming the spotlights.
However, 1-phase current rails are cheaper to buy due to the reduced flexibility in operation.
3-phase current rails
With the 3-phase current rails, as the name suggests, there are three phase conductors (L1, L2, L3). These three phases can each form their own circuit with the zero -conductor. Thus, the individual circuits can be used for different lights or spotlights in your system.
Dimme, for example, the spots connected to L1 and let the ceiling lights (L2), which provide basic lighting in the room.
3-phase current rails are more flexible than 1-phase current rails due to the separate operation of the three phase conductor.
The biggest advantage of this type of lighting by rail lighting with LED spots or ceiling beams is the standardized light adapter. Every spotlight or LED ceiling lamp for rail systems with euro adapter fits into the modern 3-phase current rails. This means that the replacement of LED ceiling beams, LED spots or wall jeters is easy to do.
Add ceiling spots of various brands such as Faro Barcelona or SLV to your 3-phase rail system or swap them-with the adapter this is easy.
Due to the flexibility that the adapter offers, you are no longer bound to a specific brand or a specific manufacturer, but can also combine different designs or colors if desired.
Why power rail system instead of ceiling lights?
With rail systems, you have the option of setting many different lighting accents with just one power connection. A single ceiling lamp often does not manage to thoroughly illuminate the entire room. Rail systems are therefore a good choice to operate several light sources over only one power connection.
In the private sector you can use this by placing a hanging lamp over the dining table and at the same time illuminating the wall shelf or chest of drawers on the side. Light can be created at any time via the different circuits where it is needed.
Commercially, power rails with LED spots or ceiling beams are often used in supermarkets, clothing stores, etc. to perfectly illuminate the goods. Museums or exhibition halls are also often equipped with LED ceiling beams, installation spots or installation spots.
Remosts with motion detectors are used in hotel entrances or apartment buildings.
Inspirations for garden lighting with beams and spots:
- 3-phase current rails for outside-use outdoor spotlights for terrace lighting
- LED battery spotlights for road lighting or to artistically stage your garden beds
- Solar spotlights for the energy -saving illuminate beds or garden ponds
- Power rail in the entrance area - LED flooder with motion detector
