Workplace lighting

In addition to general lighting, there are certain requirements for lighting at workplaces. The former usually is not enough here and therefore has to be supplemented with additional work or single-place lighting, because this is the only way to do justice to the specific tasks such as reading, writing or computer work. What is measured at 500 lux.

Especially in the commercial area, the minimum lighting strength is standardized by DIN EN 12464-1. Workplaces, for example desks, are usually equipped with additional lights in addition to the general lighting to meet the standard - but you should also provide sufficient workplace lighting in your own study at home.

Here, the increased illuminance, direction of light and light density must also be paid to the increased illuminance, since at workplaces there is usually more and brighter light than in the rest of the room in order to be able to carry out the visual work correctly and without the eyes unnecessarily. Research also has proven that the right light has an enormous impact on the ability to concentrate and the well -being in the workplace. To do this, you usually need a desk lamp or corresponding pendant lights, but additional ceiling or standing lights can also be used for adequate workplace lighting.
