DIN EN 13201

DIN EN 13201 is a European standard for street lighting. It is divided into a first part that applies solely at the national level and a part that is effective throughout the European Union, since the member states were unable to reach an agreement on Part 1. Nevertheless, since the introduction of DIN EN 13201, existing systems in Germany do not need to be retrofitted; the standard applies only to the planning of new systems and to renovations. DIN EN 13201 comprises the following parts:

  • DIN EN 13201 Part 1: Selection of Lighting Classes (applies only in Germany)
  • DIN EN 13201 Part 2: Quality Characteristics
  • DIN EN 13201 Part 3: Calculation of Quality Characteristics
  • DIN EN 13201 Part 4: Methods for Measuring the Performance Characteristics of Street Lighting Systems
  • DIN EN 13201 Part 5: Energy Efficiency Indicators
