EVM - electromagnetic compatibility

EMC stands for electromagnetic compatibility and describes the ability of devices without working without disorders due to electromagnetic radiation or not disturbing other devices. Luminaires with EMC labeling are protected against electromagnetic effects, such as caused by high-frequency electromagnetic energy of electrical devices. This energy can be radiated or forwarded and leads to faults such as noise on the radio or even failures on other devices. The so -called interference distance, i.e. the distance between electronic products, influences the probability of such disorders.

To prevent this, the EMC is checked by lights, e.g. B. by the VDE test center or the TÜV. In Germany, illuminants must comply with European standards, which is ensured by tests. EMC freedom is required in the radio protection law, so that consumers can trust that these requirements are met in the EU. This ensures both trouble -free use and the protection of other electrical devices.
