Uniform lighting

Uniform lighting refers to the even distribution of brightness. It is often referred to as basic or general lighting, as it aims to illuminate a room comprehensively and adequately. Directional light is completely avoided to prevent the creation of strong contrasts or interplay between light and shadow. This type of lighting ensures that important objects in the room, its architecture, and the people inside are clearly visible.  Such uniform lighting is particularly important when specific visual tasks need to be performed or when, for example, uniform luminance is required in street lighting. Among other methods, it can be effectively achieved using indirect lighting that is reflected from the ceiling back into the room. This provides a soft, low-shadow light.   In living spaces, however, there is often a combination of uniform lighting and accent lighting, as this is the only way to highlight or emphasize individual areas. Uniform lighting first provides a general overview and orientation within the room, while accent lighting then singles out specific areas that are particularly beautiful or that require additional light.
