Basic lighting

The basic lighting is also referred to and used as room or general lighting in order to illuminate a room evenly and sufficiently. For this purpose, lights with a larger beam angle are often used around 120 °, since they manage to illuminate wide areas with a very wide light cone, or it is used to reflect on indirect lighting, which is reflected by the ceiling, for example. The basic lighting is so secure that the important objects in the room, its architecture and the people who are located are clearly and directly visible.

The basic lighting dispenses with emphasis and instead serves the overview and orientation in the room, which is why an attempt is made to compensate for contrasts and only draw soft shadows. However, if you want to emphasize individual areas, acknowledgment can also be used. There are therefore mostly combinations of factor and general or basic lighting, because this counteracts a monotonous lighting atmosphere. In addition, it can be important to install additional light sources at the workplaces in some places such as in the kitchen or in the office.
