GS test seal

The abbreviation GS stands for the sign of certified security and confirms the agreement with the device security law. Together with the abbreviation of the respective test center, it is given, which in Germany, for example, can be the TÜV or the VDE. This GS sign is even the only legally regulated test mark for product safety in Europe.

The seal has been awarded since 1977 and the respective product is thoroughly checked before receiving the GS sign. In the light area, for example, regular controls of the light production facilities are carried out or the new products are compared with the already tested patterns. Safety regulations that can be observed are, among other things, the correctness of the instructions for use or no endangering human health.

The GS sign should therefore show consumers when buying a lamp, a lamp or other product, thus showing that this safety standards corresponds and does not run out of the product. Of course, safety always comes first in electronic devices such as lights.
