Infrared radiation

Infrared radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation that is given by certain lights or devices. It lies in the spectrum beyond the visible red light and is invisible to the human eye. However, the radiation can be perceived with special cameras or devices, and its heat is clearly noticeable on the skin. Infrared radiation is generated by many lamps such as infrared beams, infrared LEDs or incandescent lamps.

This radiation has a variety of applications: it is used in medicine for heat treatment, promotes blood circulation and relieves pain. In industry, it serves to dry, heat or check materials. It also plays an important role in consumer electronics, such as remote controls or sensors. In addition, infrared radiation in security and monitoring technology as well as in astronomy is used to recognize objects that remain invisible in the visible light.
