Contrast reproduction

The contrast reproduction describes the ability of a light source, colors and brightness to present precisely and of course. A high contrast reproduction enables fine color nuances and subtle differences in brightness realistically, which makes the details of an object or a scene more clearly emerge.

With a low contrast reproduction, colors and brightness can have a falsified effect, which can affect visual perception. This is particularly crucial in areas where an exact color display is essential, such as in art, photography, architecture, medicine or retail. Here, contrasting not only influences aesthetics, but also functionality, e.g. B. when choosing colors or the evaluation of fine details. Light sources with high color rendering index (CRI) and high contrast reproduction help to make an environment visually appealing and functional.
