Light barrier

A light barrier is an optoelectronic device for recognizing people, objects or movements by interrupting a light beam. It mostly consists of a transmitter that sends a light beam (often infrared), and a opponent opposite who registers the light. If the light beam is interrupted by an object, the light barrier recognizes this and triggers an action, for example opening a door, stopping a machine or triggering an alarm.
