Mains voltage

The electrical voltage that is available in the power grid is referred to as a mains voltage.
It is generated by the energy supply companies and delivered to consumers to operate electrical devices and lighting devices.
The mains voltage varies from country to country and can either be provided as an alternating voltage (AC) or DC voltage (DC).
It is important that electrical devices and lighting devices are designed for the correct mains voltage to avoid damage to the devices and to ensure the safety of the users.
