Scallop

The term scallop comes from the English and stands for scallop or arch, whereby this designation in the lighting area alludes primarily on the shape. Here is a scallop of the light cone of several side by side, which depicts an arched or shell-shaped on the wall.

This accentuation is mainly achieved by LED spots, spotlights and recessed lights, which are attached to the ceiling at a regular distance or very high on the wall. They then radiate their light to the bottom, whereby the individual rays overlap at a certain height - as the name Scallop already says, this is similar to a Jacobship.

Such scallop light cones are mainly used in accent lighting, in the lighting of sales rooms or for exhibition lighting. For example, images can be emphasized or facades with striking light patterns and staged. Scallops are therefore perfect for accents in the lighting - whether for private or commercial purposes.
