Scattered light

If light is reflected in different directions from a surface or a medium, it is scattered.
It arises when light hits a rough or uneven surface or through a cloudy medium, how a cloud goes through.
In contrast to the directly reflected light, which is reflected in a certain direction, the stray light is diffuse and can be reflected in all directions.
It can lead to undesirable lighting effects such as glare or loss of contrast.
