Tom Dixon's luminaire series, which was created together with the design collective front from Sweden, delivers a rarely seen play of colors, the light flows into all directions brilliantly.
A lamp, two manifestations: Melt is a kind of deformed light globe that, thanks to decorative plastic metallization, is able to proudly show two faces. The floor lamp version, Melt Stand Chandelier, consists of several naturally shaped, closed light balls made of polycarbonate in different sizes, which are attached to a steel lamp foot.
The Melt Stand Chandelier is already switched off a decorative highlight in the room thanks to its metallic-reflective surface, but switched onto its full potential. The light then breaks through the metal coating and the impression occurs visually as if the interior melt through the heat produced by the lamp.
The play of colors of Tom Dixon Melt Stand Chandelier is particularly fascinating in the evening when the view inside the lamp is less clear. The apparently liquid mass in the sphere of light appears exhausted as soon as the Melt stood chandelier is switched off again. Regardless of the version, the lights of the Melt series from Tom Dixon bring every salon and every living room to shine and proves to be a pompous furnishing element, especially in modern interiors.
