Fan lamps in the test: compare the functions of an illuminated ceiling fan
5 min Time to read
"Unlike other fans, a ceiling fan distributes the air throughout the entire room, providing cooling and, in combination with light, the right amount of brightness - and all with just a single ceiling connection. But that's not all that fan lamps have to offer! "
Our fan lamps
We have our fan lamps in other functions because, like almost everything else in the lighting sector, they are now mostly equipped with high-quality LED technology. An LED fan lamp is therefore a long-lasting and energy-efficient replacement for your ceiling light.
An additional plus for LED lighting in our test of fan lamps are the ceiling fans with light, which can be used all year round, because they have their advantages not only in summer.
In addition to the much-desired cooling on hot days, a fan lamp provides warm air in winter and serves as additional heating, so to speak. To do this, your fan lamp must have a so-called forward and reverse function, which is sometimes also referred to as clockwise and anticlockwise rotation.
If your fan lamp rotates in the opposite direction in winter, it distributes the warm heating or chimney air that has accumulated under the ceiling evenly throughout the room and therefore ends up higher up in our ranking. A fan lamp can therefore be a real all-round solution.
Modern design fan lamps - also a visual highlight
They should not only be practical and functional, but in our fan lamp test we also looked at the design of fan lamps. The Spanish lighting brand in particular FARO Barcelona knows how to turn them into decorative design objects.
Whether in the trendy industrial style, in vintage look or in wood look offers you skapetze® a large selection of different fan lamps . There is even something in the range for those who find large rotor blades rather annoying.
For example, some variants have plain white or even completely transparent fan blades - here the ceiling fan invisible and only the light is in the foreground. Whatever your style of living, we are sure to have the right fan lamp for you!
Four ceiling fan models in direct comparison
We would like to introduce you to our four fan lamp favorites, which we have compared in all these presented functions: First and foremost, three fan lamps from the FARO Barcelona brand, which are included in our skapetze® range offers by far the largest selection of designs and options in the fan settings.
LED Fan Lamp Hydra
In no way inferior to it is the LED ceiling fan Hydra also from the Spanish lighting brand FARO Barcelona. A slightly smaller classic model with a diameter of 132 cm and four blades, it is nevertheless suitable for rooms larger than 17.6 m² and also provides energy-saving LED light.
The only difference is that this fan lamp model only has 3 speed settings, which is completely sufficient due to its smaller size and the correspondingly smaller rooms. On the other hand, it convinces with a clear plus point: a remote control that allows you to operate it very conveniently.
Poros LED fan lamp
Again with 3 speed levels, a diameter of 132 cm and suitable for rooms larger than 17.6 m², the LED ceiling fan Poros from FARO Barcelona.
With its three leaves and pleasant design in a light wood look, it looks less striking and blends into your rooms a little more unobtrusively - just right for simple furnishing styles without a lot of frills.
Oleiros ceiling fan
Even more inconspicuous in design with its transparent blades is the Oleiros ceiling fan from Globo. Although this lamp brand does not have quite as much choice as Faro Barcelona, it does have some ceiling fans with lighting in its range that are worth mentioning.
The Oleiros ceiling fan with a diameter of 132 cm performs particularly well in our fan test, as this product can also be controlled by remote control, has a reverse option with three speeds and can be mounted on sloping ceilings.
LED fan Enigma
Another ceiling fan from the manufacturer Globo from our fan lamp test is the LED fan Enigma. With its vintage style and matching pull switch, it impresses with reversible rotor blades, a reverse option and three speeds.
An additional feature of this 105 cm diameter ceiling fan with lamp is the three LED bulbs, which provide a particularly high level of brightness.
Test conclusion on the control of ceiling fans with lamp: Simple and convenient
As the direct comparison has already made clear, there are different ways of operating the fan. In the past, it was usually necessary to pull on a hanging chain of the fan to start it, but although such a pull switch is still available on request, especially in the retro versions, it has long been more convenient.
Wall switch make operating a fan lamp just as easy as operating any conventional lighting. The light of the ceiling fan can be switched on or off and the speed regulated at the touch of a button or rotary control. However, the most convenient solution is probably the control by remote control - so you can even adjust the strength from your bed at night.
In addition, the light and fan can be separately can be controlled separately, so that the ceiling fan with lighting continues to provide a pleasant coolness even without shining brightly. As far as the operating options are concerned, our fan lamp test shows just as many options as anywhere else.
Installation and positioning in the test: What to look out for with fan lamps
It may seem a little complex at first glance, but it doesn't get much more difficult than installing a light with a fan lamp. First of all, of course, a power outlet must be available and a little more space usually needs to be planned for a ceiling fan than for conventional lighting.
It is very important to keep a certain minimum distance from furniture, curtains and other surrounding objects and also to take the ceiling load into account. After all, your fan lamp should be able to bear this load. To prevent colds, you should also avoid excessive temperature differences.
It is therefore best not to run your ceiling fan at the highest setting, especially at night. But that's all there is to consider. Fan lamps in the test also impress with their ease of installation. However, if you're not sure whether you can do it yourself or simply don't want to waste any time, our own installation service will be happy to do it for you.
