Own furniture series KLUNI

In 2024, Sabine Buttenhauser developed her own furniture series, which is produced in Austria. With three surfaces/colors and six sizes, this series offers a wide range of design options. The simple design blends harmoniously into any furnishing style and can be manufactured in individual sizes and colors on request. "Anyone can bring kluni into their home!"

skapetze®: Which living trends do you see as shaping 2025 and how do they influence the choice of lighting?

SabineIn general, living is individual for me, and this is also reflected in the living trends for 2025. Colorful to subtle, patterns of all kinds to plain, modern interpretations of materials and sustainability. The lighting is then adapted according to the style of the interior. Sometimes shrill, sometimes pushed into the background.

skapetze®: What do you think the role of lighting will be in the design of living spaces in the future? Will it be more functional, more aesthetic or a combination of both?

SabineOverall, the role of lighting in future interior design will be a harmonious combination of functionality and aesthetics. The ability to transform spaces through targeted lighting design while fulfilling practical needs will be crucial.

skapetze®: Which materials and colors will dominate interior design in 2025, and how can they be showcased with the right lighting?

SabineBrown and earthy tones, natural materials and sustainable design, reflective surfaces and vintage statements will determine the interior design trend of the new year 2025. 

For lamps, it's chrome surfaces. Shapes from nature, glass with spherical shapes, rod systems, filigree lights with ropes and bright colors naturally adapted to the respective furnishing style.

Sabine: When planning a new room or a renovation project, you should Smart lighting solutions should be considered from the outset. This includes selecting suitable luminaires and considering the placement of switches and control systems. Depending on the room experience you want, colors, shapes and illuminance lamps are selected.

Compatibility between different smart home devices will continue to increase and become more and more automated. AI will naturally come to the fore and be able to offer personalized lighting options by analyzing user behavior and making automatic adjustments.

skapetze®: What is your personal favorite aspect of the combination of lighting and interior design trends? And which trend would you like to see more of in the future?

SabineThat you can set accents with furniture, colors or lighting and thus achieve a completely different spatial experience. I find the interplay of these factors incredibly exciting!

It's all about the right combinations! No matter which trends. I always focus on the user and individuality. Because then something new and individual is always created!
