History of the Flos shine
Flos is Latin and means flower. And so are the lamps from the Italian manufacturer: unique and timeless. The origin of these extravagant lamps was created in Merano in 1962 by founding Dino Gavina and Cesare Cassina. In 1963 Sergio Gandini came across the duo who took over the management.
Together with the designer brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Tobia Scarpa, the first design lights soon emerged, inspired by the industrial feeling of the new company seat in Brescia, near Milan.
In 1972 there were several flos lights in the MoMA in New York City, America's most important museum for contemporary art. The exhibition there helped the brand to be even more aware and the triumphal march of the Mediterranean lights began.
Over the years, Flos always made sure to secure the quality and uniqueness of the graceful lights, despite the masses of produced lamps, and the lovers of this to surprise them again and again with new works, which they visibly succeeded.
The manufacturer also went with the trend when the Flos LED lights. The new company Flos Architectural Lighting was created, which specialized in the lighting of larger areas with the latest technology.

As mentioned at the beginning, the first designers who competed with Flos were the Achille brothers and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. From her hand, for example, the balloon-shaped table lamp gatto (also available as a gatto piccolo in the smaller version), which created in the industrial style toio or the impressive ceiling lamp Flos Taraxacum, created by Achille Castiglioni alone.
The Flos Snoopy table lamp, which comes up with a marble base, also comes from her hand. If the question is in the room for a stately table lamp that is perfect for reading evenings or as a piece of jewelry for the noble desk, Snoopy is ready.
A name more than value is also the Arco archery lamp, which already delighted many friends of the noble lamp taste in 1962. This floor lamp from Flos has a base of Carraramarmor, the shaft is pull -out and made of stainless steel. The most impressive thing about this lamp is likely to be the big arc, which is very striking and works in large rooms accordingly.

They are available both as a standing lamp, table lamp, hanging lamp, ceiling or mirror light. Many of the Glo Balls contain LED modules and are dimmable, even with Bluetooth control. The setting of the brightness becomes a noise, simply via tablet or other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

The Flos Skygarden owes its creation to the designer Marcel Wander, who conjured up the pendant lamp in 2007.
The design lamp has decorations from mechanically edited plaster casting on the inner lampshade, which the lamp gives a high-quality charisma and a graceful, delicate touch, thanks to the finely worked out ornaments. The inspiration for this lamp was drawn from old stucco ceiling reliefs. The color selection includes the tones rust brown, shiny black, matt gold or white shiny.
A global success is the Lampe Ara, which was strongly designed by Philippe, later called "Miss Sissi". This modification of a classic bedside lamp in the modern age is available in many different colors, the reading lamp is very important. Philippe Stark said that the name Miss Sissi was given to the lamp because this light source appears in the minds of people as soon as you think of a classic lamp.
