With the Kimono light, Karman designer Matteo Ugolini succeeds in making the heavy shape of a cylinder look light as a feather and thus awakening our emotions. Alongside the focus on nature, this is one of his aims: To elicit feelings from viewers. With the Karman Kimono pendant lamp, he has achieved this perfectly, as it radiates a lightness like no other lamp.
Visually, this weightlessness is achieved through the material used: fiberglass, which frays slightly at the top and bottom. This means that the lamp does not have a hard, clear end, but instead slowly fades out and distributes its light evenly and softly. It is available in two different sizes for indoor and outdoor use. The narrow version has a diameter of 40 cm and a height of 85 cm, while the wide version is slightly more compact at 50 cm x 70 cm. Depending on the IP65 or IP20 protection rating, the lamp can then be used as an outdoor Karman Kimono lamp or as an indoor lamp. It can also be dimmed with a suitable light source and its brightness can therefore be adjusted - optimum lighting conditions guaranteed.
