Fire protection symbols

Luminous lamps always cause a certain, albeit only minimal, heat development, which is why easily flammable materials must have a certain distance. In order to reduce or assess the risk of fire how warm a lamp becomes, there are pictograms for the fire protection labeling of lights.

These were bindingly renewed in 2012 in order to differentiate fire protection more precisely. However, if lamps are not marked, they can be attached to normally flammable materials, as DIN EN 60598-1 states. On the other hand, if it is a fire -prone area, only luminaires with labeling D and protection class IP 5x may be used.

All other light sources must be marked as follows:

Connection lights that may only be mounted on non -combustible building materials.
Subsiders that may only be mounted on non -combustible building materials.
Thermal insulation is not permitted.
Lights for assembly in or on furniture with a fastening area up to 180 ° C cannot be flammable.
Lights for assembly in or on furniture with a fastening area in normal operation up to 95 ° C cannot be flammable.
Luminaires for fireplace -hazarded operating facilities with a temperature of the horizontal surfaces with normal operation of a maximum of 90 ° C and glass surfaces of fluorescent lamps of a maximum of 150 ° C.
