DALI

DALI stands for "Digital Addressable Lighting Interface," which is also known in German as the standardized digital interface for electronic ballasts (EVG). As the German name suggests, it is used to control electronic ballasts for light sources across all manufacturers. With DALI, groups of luminaires, individual luminaires, or the lighting in entire rooms can be controlled. Thanks to so-called gateways, DALI is therefore frequently integrated into smart lighting systems, ensuring high-quality lighting at all times. Unlike the analog 1-10 V interface, DALI can also control individual devices due to its individual addressability. It also guarantees the interchangeability of control gear from different manufacturers. For DALI lighting control, a special DALI electronic ballast is required. This allows up to 64 DALI-compatible and individually dimmable lights to be controlled via a single control line. Like many other smart lighting systems, it offers a wide range of applications, from light colors and dimmers to ease of use.
