Light Color

Light color describes the appearance of light, which depends on a light fixture’s color temperature. This is measured in Kelvin, abbreviated as K. Depending on the color temperature, the light from a lamp can be warm—meaning it has a yellowish tint—or cold—meaning it is very white or almost bluish. For comparison: warm-white lights have a light color of 2700–3000 K, neutral-white lights have a light color of 4000 K, and cool-white lights start at 5600 K. Thus, the higher the color temperature (or light color) in Kelvin, the more the light color shifts toward the cool, blue-white range; and the lower the color temperature, the warmer and more yellowish the light appears.

The colors of the light primarily influence the atmosphere and mood in the room.Warm white In lighting design, for example, light is often used to create a cozy atmosphere in living rooms, dining rooms, or bedrooms. Bluish, cool-white light, which is often also referred to asdaylight white is called, on the other hand, emphasizes details very precisely and helps promote concentration, which is why it is often used in workspaces.

If you want to use certain rooms for multiple activities or create several different atmospheres, we recommend aDimmer and/or a lamp withColor Change, to enable all light colors. However, when using a dimmer, it is important to ensure that it not only reduces the brightness but actually changes the light color of a lamp.
