Touch dimmer

Luminaires that are equipped with a touch dimmer can be switched on and off and dimmed with a simple touch. The metal housing reacts to the slightest touch and then dims the lamp, so a lamp with a touch dimmer is sometimes also referred to as a touch light. Usually lights with a touch dimmer can be dimmed in three levels.

The functionality behind it can be attached to an electric field that creates the metal housing. The built-in circuit measures exactly this field and reacts as soon as someone touches the touch dimmer, because a minimum voltage change creates. This change lies in the electricity produced by humans through its heartbeat, which is very low, but is still sufficient to activate the touchdimmer. For this reason, the dimmer can only be controlled with a skin touch and does not work when touching with a glove or other object.

Such a touch dimmer can be installed due to the small size in table lights, standing or wall lamps as well as in hanging lights, the only condition is that the housing of the lighting must be metallic. With a single touch, the complete ambience in the room can already be adapted and changed, without any annoying search for the switch. This is exactly what dimmers are mostly used for, whereby very light light is good for detailed work and dimmed darker light makes the room more comfortable.
