The Origins
Fil de Fer is a lamp made of sculpted and braided aluminum wire, illuminated by tiny bulbs inside. Conceived and designed by Enzo Catellani, it is his favorite creation. It was created almost 20 years ago for a special commission, but was not used for the original project and remained hanging in his workshop. Anyone who saw it lit up felt that it had something special and magical about it. Enzo Catellani decided to continue working on the lamp. The lamp was launched on the market and became the most representative model of Catellani & Smith.
The Catellani & Smith Fil de Fer F is an LED floor lamp. It is made of gold-plated or untreated aluminum wire and has a spherical shape. The integrated dimmer is nickel-plated. This floor lamp is available in two finishes: natural aluminum or gold. It is operated with LED lamps, each with 1.5 watts of power. The LED lamps can be replaced thanks to the sockets. This lamp has a diameter of 30, 50, 70 or 100 cm.
