Description
This design from 1924 by Wilhelm Wagenfeld is referred to as "the Bauhaus lamp" and certainly deserves this name. The characteristic form, which is primarily shaped by clarity and the highest craftsmanship, is already an eye -catcher. The diffuser in the form of a glass bullet segment gives the light softly and evenly into the room.
At the age of 24, Wagenfeld designed this masterpiece in the Weimar Bauhaus as a task of the head of the metal workshops, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. According to Wagenfeld's attitude to the Bauhaus, products that were designed here should have an industrial character. In truth, the luminaire is handmade, as well as the lights from Tecnolumen, which are called "Wagenfeld" and are produced as only authorized re-editions.
These lights are manufactured individually and numbered continuously. This number is in the context of the Bauhaus and Tecnolumen sign, which can also be found on the bottom of the lamp. "The Bauhaus-Lucht" is a masterpiece that illustrates the philosophy of the state Bauhaus zu Weimar and documents the manufacturer Tecnolumen to this type of design.
This lamp Wagenfelds was honored in 1982 with the German "good form" design award and is also one of the "best 200 designs for the year 2000".
