Description

Wilhelm Wagenfeld design from 1924 is referred to as "the Bauhaus light" and will definitely deserve this name. The characteristic form, which is primarily shaped by clarity and the highest craftsmanship, is already an eye -catcher. The opal glass diffuser in the form of a bullet segment gives the light softly and evenly into the room.

At the age of 23, Wagenfeld was recorded as a journeyman in the state Bauhaus in Weimar and a year later designed this classic among the luminaires after a study task of the head of the metal workshops, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. According to Wagenfeld, drafts by the State Bauhaus should be industrial products and have a corresponding look. In fact, however, they were handmade - so today everything is created in the edition of this lamp, which is only authorized by Wagenfeld, according to the original information in terms of dimensions and material.

These lights are manufactured individually and are continuously numbered. This number is in a clear connection to the Bauhaus and Tecnolumen sign, which can also be found on the bottom of the lamp. "The Bauhaus-Lucht" is a masterpiece that illustrates the philosophy of the state Bauhaus zu Weimar and illustrates the turn of the manufacturer Tecnolumen to this type of design.

The Wagenfeld-Lucht was awarded the design award of the Federal Republic of Germany "good form" in 1982 and is one of the "best 200 designs for the year 2000".
