For more than 20 years, the company  has been analysing trend colours from the film industry, the design sector, on the basis of artists' works, the entertainment industry or the specifications of galleries.

Whether dark blue, turquoise, light blue or purple - your search is over. We explain the origin and the power of this colour selection, take you on a sensual journey through the ocean and hope to inspire you a little!

Blue - colour of the sea

In the spirit of the sea (and environmental protection), this colour is emblematic of positive qualities such as harmony, calm, contentment, relaxation and many other decelerating effects on body and mind.

One reason why blue lamps and luminaires, from light to dark blue tones, can be used specifically in the living area is to intensify this effect and to escape hecticness and stress within one's own four walls simply by choosing the right furnishings.

Favourite colour for light experiences

In addition, blue is also by far the most frequently mentioned favourite colour of women and men. It stands for sensuality, vastness and infinity. As the colour of water, it creates a natural feeling in the home and a strong bond with nature.

Lighting in living areas

In living areas, it is most often used in bathrooms, swimming pools, spa and sauna areas or even in kitchen areas. In other words, wherever water is used again and again.

Here, your history establishes a direct link to the way the room is used with the properties of water. Usually, the colour blue is used with tiles, carpets or wallpaper and matched in colour with blue living accessories and blue or white lamps.

Looking for interior optimisation?

Blue pendant lamps, for example, can be used very well in kitchen or dining areas to provide meditative splashes of colour. But also suspended next to the bathtub, they symbolically bring the sea feeling into your private wellness oasis.

Blue table lamps break up the usual ambient colours and provide an effective contrast.

Blue floor lamps can give even classic living areas a modern touch and look good in the office, but also in the living room.

Blue recessed spots stand out clearly from the usual colours, white, black or anthracite, and make the ceiling a spectacle.

In the garden, blue luminaires are a little more inconspicuous and rarely found. Nevertheless, blue outdoor lamps can also be used here as bollard lamp, solar lamp or battery lamp.

Effect of blue lamps

  • Affects vision: Blue promotes resilience and radiates calm and peace.

  • Influence on hearing: Yes indeed, colours can also sound. Described as "Vivid Nostalgia", Classic blue is said to sound calm and serene to listeners.

  • Influences the sense of touch: The dye blue is also said to have a calming effect on touch and to expand the mind.

  • Influences the sense of taste: Similar to wine, blue is said to stand for a fresh and lively power of taste, while also appearing gentle and elegant.

  • Influences the sense of smell: Again, the sea is the focus. If you think of the sea, you can literally feel the salty air and the freshness. So is the scent of the colour blue.
