The internationally recognized test laboratory for hygiene and medical products HygCen Germany GmbH has made it official: Ozonos eliminates coronavieren 100% from the air* and more than 90% from surfaces**.

But how does it work?

Ozone, also known as active oxygen , is a naturally occurring substance and consists of three oxygen atoms (O3). It has therefore compared to the vital oxygen in our breathing air (O2) an oxygen atom more. This third oxygen atom makes ozone a very reactive substance . It tries to form a compound with other substances or decays back to O2.

This property make we take advantage of in order to eliminate odors, bacteria, To render viruses, germs, pollen, etc. harmless. Proteins and fats in particular are those substances which react quickly with ozone and decay. Finds ozone is not a substance with which it can react, it disintegrates again after a short time to O2 (oxygen) without any residues.

These are exactly the properties we need. In everyday life, we know ozone mainly from the ozone layer that protects us and as an air pollutant near the ground. As a pollutant, ozone is mainly produced from exhaust gases and solar radiation (summer smog). Ozone is therefore only ONE component of a cocktail of pollutants. Its harmfulness lies mainly in the excessive concentrations and other harmful additives.

A clear distinction must be made from summer smog: Firstly, for its function, the OZONOS Aircleaner only produces ozone in low concentrations and no other pollutants. Secondly, even under unfavourable conditions, the ozone concentrations in continuous operation remain in an unhesitating range of less than 0.05 ppm, e.g. with the OZONOS AC-1 version.The device, which is produced in accordance with ISO 900:2015, was successfully tested in the laboratory by TÜV SÜD Product Service and certified by Quality Austria Trainings, Zertifizierungs- und Begutachtungs GmbH. Unsuitable for use in inhabited premises. Until now, ozone for domestic use has been produced using so-called ozone generators. These devices use very high voltages to generate ozone and/or ionized air by means of electrical discharges (corona discharges). The latter are also called ionizers in the trade.

The disadvantage is that corona discharges produce toxic nitrogen oxides (NOX) in normal indoor air - the main pollutant of summer smog and absolutely undesirable in indoor air. In addition, the amount of ozone generated, usually more than 1,000 mg/h, is much higher than, for example, the OZONOS with 2.5 mg/h (model OZONOS AC-1).

The use of conventional ozone generators for odor neutralization and disinfection of rooms is only possible in a very controlled manner, for example, if the room is not entered for several days, as in the case of crime scene cleaning. In addition, the noise level is also often more than 45 db (audibly loud, concentration disturbance).
