Food lighting for perfect product presentation buy at a great price

When choosing the right food lighting, you should first select which product in your assortment is specifically concerned. Different products, such as meat, baked goods or dairy products, each have their own lighting requirements and can be perfectly highlighted by different lighting systems Light colours perfectly in the limelight.

In the following description, we provide you with an overview of the lighting required for all types of food.

Food lighting for meat and fish

In the case of meat and fish, a distinction must be made between reddish and more white products, as the use of LED showcase lighting is chosen differently here. For butcher's shop lighting we draw on our years of expertise to create Lighting design for butcher's shop lighting.

For red meat and fish, especially warm light be used in the fresh food counter because it contains more red tones and thus emphasises the freshness of minced meat, steak and tuna in a special way. High-quality LED lamps for the butcher's shop such as LED spotlights or LED ceiling lights can be found in our online shop.

Food lighting with cool white light

Cold white light in the Display case lighting would be fatal for meat or corresponding types of fish, as the colour of the products is negatively changed and makes them appear really spoiled.

For white fish, on the other hand, cold white light is needed to emphasise the freshness of cod, sole and other types of fish. Cold white light is recommended because it matches the colours of the fish.

Lighting for fruit and vegetables

For fruit and vegetables, shelf lighting should be low but selectively used. Lamps in the surroundings that emit a warm and natural light spectrum would be particularly suitable for this purpose.

However, it should be noted that not all fruit and vegetables need the same lighting conditions. Lettuce, for example, tolerates strong, powerful light, whereas vegetables growing below ground, such as potatoes, onions and asparagus, need only a little light. If these crops, which grow below ground level, are illuminated too much, the vegetables will spoil more quickly.

Lighting for baked goods and cheese

Baked goods and cheeses need warm light because of the yellow tones of the products. With the right product lighting, appetite is stimulated and the crust of the bread looks crispier as a result.

Too warm lighting in the display case, on the other hand, distorts the colour of the baked goods and makes the bread look rather brown and unnatural.

Lighting for dairy products

Like dairy products, the lighting for dairy products should tend to be cool white. This makes the products look fresh and the surface clean. However, LED lighting is not recommended for dairy products with clear, transparent packaging, as it ages the milk more quickly.

An effect is already visible after four hours, i.e. after a very short time. In addition, this unsuitable lighting changes the taste negatively, as the LED lights emit a blue light spectrum, in contrast to Fluorescent tubes emit a blue light spectrum, which changes the composition of the milk

Conclusion

Basically, you should bear in mind that every sales zone in your (food) shop requires an individual type of lighting to make the products appear appealing and professional to your customers in the best possible light. In the presentation of food products, colour temperature plays a major role alongside light colour.

Do the test: in the supermarket of your choice, you will notice that completely different light intensities are often used in the bakery, meat counters or even the corridor areas. There is, of course, a reason for this.

Your Shop lighting should be used extensively, especially in the food sector, to emphasise the freshness of products and thus encourage customers to buy them. Showcase lighting can be implemented professionally using LED spotlights or certain food luminaires.

Furthermore, apart from the illumination of dairy products with transparent packaging, LED luminaires such as LED ceiling luminaires are recommended because they offer many advantages. For one thing, they are very economical and emit less heat. This is an advantage because heat causes the products to dry out more quickly. Secondly, LED lamps do not emit UV radiation. Food spoils because of UV radiation.
