British lamp design by Tom Dixon
TomDixon - British designer, talented jack-of-all-trades and bold eccentric. His eponymous label TomDixon stands for minimalism and modern opulence reduced to the essentials. Inspired by the warm shine of brass, bronze and copper, TomDixon has chosen these materials as the trademark of his design forge. His simple and unadorned forms are equally effective in opulent and minimalist interiors. TomDixon transfers his unique design language to furniture, accessories and lamps. Inspiring lighting designs such as his Beat lamp series have meanwhile become objects of timeless classicism.
TomDixon achieved his international breakthrough in 1987 with his own manufacturer Dixon PID. During his function as art director of the Habitat furnishing chain, his label TomDixon emerged in 2002 with the aim of revolutionising the design landscape. For almost two decades now, TomDixon has established itself through sculptural designs and innovative manufacturing technologies. The company itself describes its products as "extraordinary objects for everyday use". The versatile light artworks by TomDixon are suitable for every interior and set highlights in every household.
