The colour temperature of approx. 4,000 Kelvin stands for the designation "neutral white light". The light colour is somewhat cooler than warm white lighting and appears neither cold nor warm. Hence the name. Neutral white lighting is often used in study rooms, bathrooms, hobby rooms and in the basement.
Choosing the right colour temperature

What is light colour anyway?
The colour temperature is measured in Kelvin. The lower the Kelvin value, the warmer the light colour. Sounds somewhat illogical, but unlike degrees Celsius, it is the colour of the light from a self-luminous light source. 1.500 Kelvin roughly correspond to the warm light of a candle.
Higher values such as 10,000K. correspond approximately to a bright blue sky. To create the effect of daylight (around midday), choose values such as 5,000K. Because this light is much cooler, it has a much higher blue content than candlelight - hence the name neutral white.
Distribute your colour temperature correctly
Different rooms - different colour temperatures. Anywhere you want to be awake and alert, the best choice is neutral white. For example, in your study or office. In this light, contrasts are easy to see and it helps you to concentrate on your work.
