Ingo Maurer Floor Lamp Ilios Design Classic

Filigree floor lamp FRANZ RINGELHAN, INGO MAURER 1983

A round opal glass is balanced between two long metal rods. Ilios is an elegant floor lamp for accent lighting in situations where calm and not too bright light is desired. A red, fluorescent isolating wedge at the bottom of the rods adds a minimal, coloured accent. Ilios is a design classic from the early 1980s, when low-voltage halogen lamps were used. A secondary voltage of only 12 volts makes it possible to do without cables and achieve a uniquely light expression. The opal glass provides soft, pleasant light. Towards the back, the halogen bulb casts unfiltered light onto the wall. This additionally illuminates the room indirectly.
