Flame Element for Flying Flames MORITZ WALDEMEYER, INGO MAURER AND TEAM 2013
The Flame Element is fixed freely to the canopy of the Flying Flames system with magnets and supplied with power via one of the ten slots. Based on video footage, small LEDs reproduce the slight flickering of a flame in a realistic and fascinating way. On each side of the Flame element, 128 LEDs form a rectangle. The Flame elements are individually dimmable. The length of the feed and holding cables can be adjusted. Flying Flames enables the design of individual candle chandeliers. It combines the amazing LED candles that Moritz Waldemeyer and Ingo Maurer presented in 2012 with a simple and functional downlight element. To install Flying Flames you need: A canopy (available in two sizes). A maximum of 10 Flame elements and up to three Downlight elements can be operated on the canopy. The Flame elements cannot be used without the canopy, as the ballast is integrated in the canopy.
