Two metal rings woven with cotton threads are the basis for the unusual lampshade of the Oyster pendant lamp. Its name is not entirely unjustified, because visually it is reminiscent of an oyster in an abstract sense. The pearl in the middle of the lamp is represented by the light source, which is hidden under a round cover. This disc ensures that the light of the illuminant does not cause any glare.
The designer of this luminaire series, Jette Scheib, looks for inspiration in her surroundings, in people and in their behaviour towards each other as well as in her handling of objects. She designs luminaires that are not only functional, but above all create a cosy atmosphere and have personality. Jette Scheib studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin and now lives and works in Barcelona.
