What is the meaning of the abbreviations RGB and CCT?
The term RGB stands for the colours red, green, blue. By mixing these three basic colours, almost all colour tones can be produced. In LED lamps, three light-emitting diodes are equipped with these colours, which allows a colour selection from 16 million colours that can be displayed and dimmed continuously.
CCT - Correlated Color Temperature
This term stands for the control of colour temperature. CCT light management enables the light colour to be changed continuously from warm white (2700 Kelvin) to cool white (6500 Kelvin). It also enables simultaneous dimming ofthe light without changing the colour temperature.

Connect as many iLight lamps as you like and control them conveniently via smartphone or tablet (the MiLight app can be found in the Appstore for Apple devices or in the Playstore for Android) or use the iLight remote control to control your lighting systems. Within a 30 m reception radius, you can also comfortably illuminate the outdoor area via smartphone or remote control.
At the touch of a finger, you can generate different colour changes and lighting scenes according to your needs:
- Warm white light: up to 3300 Kelvin
- Neutral white light: 3300 to 5300 Kelvin
- Cool white (daylight white) light: from 5300 Kelvin
- Coloured light with over 16 million different colour shades
Which light colour for which time of day or activity?
Since colour temperature has a major impact on our biorhythm, it makes sense to adapt the light colour to our activities.
Cold white light or daylight white with over 5300 Kelvin is needed where concentration and performance are important because it makes the body awake. For example, in workplaces such as offices, operating theatres, surgeries, etc.
Neutral white light is mainly used where a homely atmosphere is required, but also where activities take place, e.g. bathrooms, kitchens, hobby rooms, ...
Finally,warm white light is often used to create a cosy atmosphere, e.g. to relax in the evening and to give the body the opportunity to prepare for the night.
The absence of bluish light causes the release of melatonin, which the body needs to slip more easily into sleep. Therefore, never use bluish light in your bedroom.
