Fire and flame for design lamps
The "My New Flame" lighting project was launched in 2012 by Moritz Waldemeyer for the series of the same name by Ingo Maurer. The aim here is to create a nostalgic effect that is made possible by modern LEDs.
in 2013, this original lighting idea even made it into the New York Museum of Modern Art.
The New Flame series by Munich-based luminaire designer Ingo Maurer comprises different models. The portfolio consists of several pendant lamps and a table lamp. The "My New Flame" table lamp stands on a lamp base and has an LED board. The upper part contains two displays with 128 LEDs each. This technology creates a "dancing candle flame" that is always in motion.
Although you can see the individual points of light despite the modern technology, the luminaire still convinces with its natural and unobtrusive or random movement pattern. The circuits and the straightforward design speak for themselves.
At the base of the lamp is a toggle switch with which the luminaire can be conveniently switched on and off. Another button on the LED board allows you to dim the light continuously. You have the option of choosing from three versions for the surfaces of the board.
The New Flame table lamp is particularly suitable as a table decoration or for a romantic mood, as it is cordless and can therefore be used anywhere.
Flickering mood from above
The One New Flame is a single pendant lamp with LED board. It is available in three colours ( white, red, black). The Flying Flames pendant luminaire is available as three sets with a given number of LED elements and downlights.
Based on video material, two times 128 LEDs reproduce the slight flickering of a flame in a realistic and fascinating way. The LEDs form a rectangle on both sides of the slim board. In the middle part of the board there is a small button switch with which the LEDs can be dimmed. The electronic components have been arranged for design reasons.
The luminaires are made of metal, plastic and anodised aluminium and are available in black, red and white. The canopies are always white.
The Flying Flames system makes it possible to design a completely individual luminaire cluster:
Depending on your wishes, you can choose rectangular or square ceiling canopies. There is space for up to ten LED candles and up to three additional downlights.
The downlights provide indirect table lighting. The flickering lightens the mood and is for decorative purposes.
