The special architectural touch
Since 1995, Secto Design has been working with the renowned interior architect and designer Seppo Koho. The Finn, born in 1967, first designed in the furniture sector & since 2002 exclusively in the lighting sector. He graduated from the University of Art & Design in Helsinki and the University of Technology in Tampere. He currently runs his own architecture studio in Helsinki.
Seppo Koho's architectural signature at Secto-Design ,is clearly visible in the exclusive collection of luminaires. All luminaires are equally suitable for commercial and private interiors.
Unique design philosophy
Seppo Koho not only designs luminaires, but also makes the first prototypes himself. From an early age, he had been interested in woodwork. He was particularly interested in experimenting with the possibilities wood has to offer as a material. By making a wooden prototype for a new luminaire, many design details can be clarified for which a computer drawing would not suffice.
Seppo Koho's goal is to produce luminaires that emit a harmonious light without dazzling the viewer with visible lamps. The glare-free light source remains hidden in all Secto Design luminaires, the light on the other hand can be seen in the fascinating patterns that appear on the walls and floor. The play of light and shadow in combination with the warmth of different wood gives the minimalist design by Seppo Koho a poetic impression that captivates people all over the world.
