The creators of the Tolomeo lamps by Artemide
Michele de Lucchi designed these lamp creations together with Giancarlo Fassina. The architect and designer de Lucchi, born in Ferrara in 1951, has already designed numerous utility and everyday objects, such as pieces of furniture or a Pelikan blotting tape dispenser.
Among his best-known works, however, is the "Tolomeo" desk lamp, which he designed with Fassina for the lighting manufacturer Artemide as early as 1987. Tolomeo won the Compasso d'Oro design award, which shows that it is indispensable in the high-class luminaire category, like many luminaires by Artemide.
The simplicity but at the same time functionality of this luminaire has won it many enthusiastic followers in more than 30 years.
