The Tecnolumen Trabant 1 pendant luminaire is an extraordinary, adjustable luminaire made of pigmented special concrete. The striking design of the Tecnolumen Trabant 1 pendant luminaire is thanks to Joachim Manz, who designed the luminaire in 2008. The name of the luminaire is no coincidence: the shape is reminiscent of the celestial bodies in space. A concrete sphere hangs from a thin wire rope, which is equipped with a high-quality glass lens on the underside. The light source is concealed behind the matt or clear lens. The matt lens is particularly glare-free and diffuses the light more diffusely, while the clear lens focuses the light more and provides a more direct illumination. The concrete from which the Tecnolumen Trabant 1 pendant lamp is made is not poured and compacted by machine, but by hand, according to the designer's specifications. This creates a very smooth surface that is interspersed with irregular air pockets. This lively surface texture makes every single pendant light unique. The Tecnolumen Trabant 1 pendant light has a diameter of 18cm, the maximum suspension is 3m. The adjustable pendant light has a slot in the upper area of the concrete sphere with space for the wire rope. This narrow track allows the lamp to be tilted and turned, which is not possible with the Trabant 2 (Ø 16cm) or the Trabant 3 (Ø 14cm). With the Tecnolumen Trabant 1 pendant lamp, you not only get a concrete lamp, but a unique piece that bathes your room in a pleasant light atmosphere.
